Finding Your AdSense Niche with Affiliate Marketing
Before starting any affiliate marketing campaign, you must begin with an effective way of researching to uncover a profitable niche. You could just locate one of the many websites which charge for this information or find some high priced software to do the job but in this article we are going to explore the FREE method of finding possible niches for your affiliate marketing campaign.
When searching for your niche, you don't want to begin with trying to find topics that command high pay-per-click prices ($50.00 PPC) because in reality - they don't work and you will never achieve the volume of visitors you need to make money. On the other hand, don't start with ($0.05 PPC) niche's either because you will never make enough money and frankly you will probably lose interest.
The best niche for your affiliate marketing campaign is going to be a topic your interested in. If you don't understand finance very well, don't build your affiliate marketing campaign niche around that topic just because it seems to pay well. Think of your favorite product, hobby or skill and start there.
Because this tutorial is about affiliate marketing, we will research this keyword as your possible niche.
The best place to start is Google's Keyword Tool which will not only find your keyword but associated phrases around it. So begin by typing in (Affiliate Marketing) to bring up the keyword and phrases. Next, go to "Choose Columns To Display" and select "Show Estimated Avg. CPC" which brings up the Average Cost Per Click for each keyword and phrase. After looking through the results we can decipher a few things - Don't include the words Adult, Join, Partner, Content, Sites, Partner, Commission, Tracking, Casino, Google and so on with your niche keyword because these are low CPC words to associate with your keyword.
Instead, you want to include Program, Online, Network, Business, Internet and so on with your keyword because these have volume and a good CPC associated with it. Now we want to look at the "Additional Keywords To Consider" further down the list and we see Affiliate Program, Affiliate, Affiliates, Internet Marketing, Web Marketing, Online Marketing, eMail Marketing are high CPC keywords with volume which complement our keyword phrase Affiliate Marketing.
So, what do we do with this data now? Search Google for the keyword phrase "Affiliate Marketing Content" and look at how many paid ads are on the page to the right - just 1. Remember, "Content" is not a word we wanted and the paid ads show this but when we search "Affiliate Marketing Program" we have 8 paid ads to the right. If you want to build a site generating revenue from Google AdSense then you need to choose the right keyword phrases.
Now you want to optimize your webpage and use the keyword "Affiliate Marketing" 20 times throughout the page. This will not be keyword spamming when you use "Affiliate Marketing" in your page Name, Title, Meta Description and Meta Keyword along with "Affiliate Marketing" and associated phrases "Affiliate Marketing Program", "Internet Affiliate Marketing" and so on throughout your webpage.
To get the ball rolling with your new optimized page you can submit to Digg and it will get indexed into Google or if you have RSS on your page, subscribe to your RSS from your personal iGoogle page and it will also get indexed.
